The cost of transportation to and from remote production facilities including shared facilities in Immature Industries and Business Units will mature as the industry life cycle matures and long term economic profits are achieved in revenue-growth industries. These relatively fixed or mixed costs are passed on in Immature Industries and may act as Barriers to Exit for new entrants in Mature Industries depending on life-cycle stage. Entrenched firms or mangers of entrenchment with long term constraints, High Barriers to Exit, and economic proximity mobility barriers will serve as deterrents to Immature Industries in the short to medium term. Such constraints may last two (2) or more business cycles depending on the level of cooperation among firms and so called economic immunity granted by market mechanisms during economic downturns, recessions, or down-cycles.
